One Day Industrial Visit, 2020

The Department of Biotechnology organized a one day industrial visit to MotherDairy, Patparganj , Delhi on 20th February 2020 for B.Sc. 3rd year students . The objective was to provide students an insight internal working of Mother Dairy and opportunity to learn practically through interaction regarding of the milk Collection, Transportation,Testing, Processing and Manufacturing of other dairy products. The students observed various stages for the production of milk and finally ended their visit by having a look and understanding the functioning of the processing units which the instructor had discussed with the students through presentation and video while he was describing the whole functioning of the plant. The visit was very useful for the students as they could now relate their theoretical knowledge with the practical exposure. It was a good learning experience for the students.

Lab Demonstration by Codon Biotech, Noida.

Laboratory experiences provide a great learning platform to students, demonstration on DNA extraction from plants was held at free of cost and students did hands-on practice also during the session. Dr.TriptiBhatnagar (Director, Codon Biotech, Noida), demonstrated the technique and delivered the lecture to make students more understand about the technique.

Disease Awareness Program

Disease awareness program was organized on 23rd Dec 2019 in which student showed enthusiasm and took part to aware people regarding the symptoms, prevention and cure of Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), General Anxiety Disorder (GAD), AIIDS, and Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). This health promotion program aims to engage and empower individuals and communities to choose healthy behaviours, and make changes that reduce the risk of developing chronic diseases and other morbidities.

National Science Day

National Science Day is celebrated every year to spread a message about the Importance of science in the daily life of the people, to display all the activities, efforts and achievements in the field of science for human welfare. It is one of the main science functions of India. It is also celebrated to commemorate the discovery of Raman Effect by Nobel laureate Shri C.V. Raman. A lecture on scientific explanation of Myths & miracles was explained to the students with a clear involvement of science. Roles of various Indian scientists were played by students in the form of videos, story and drama. Science quiz and poster making competition was organized for students.

Educational Visit

The Department of Biotechnology organized a one day educational visit to Sewage Treatment Plant, Noida on 9th April 2019 for B.Sc and M.Sc. students. The purpose of the visit was to familiarize the students with the procedure of municipal waste water treatment and reuse. The visit included presentations and demonstration by team members of project engineers, who explain all the details and benefits of project. They were then escorted on a tour of the site, where they were given a detailed explanation of the project. They observed the work achieved so far on the ground. The visit was quite helpful for the students to get the practical knowledge regarding the functioning and process of municipal waste water treatment plant.
